Far in the future amongst a corner of the galaxy controlled by the all-powerful 'Alliance' these modern day cowboys on their Firefly Class ship 'Serenity' are sometime mercenaries, sometime smugglers and sometime freedom fighters.

The small crew along with their strange set of passengers struggle to survive in the harsh environment of space.

Firefly lasted only fourteen episodes, but did get another outing on the big screen a few years later in the movie 'Serenity'
