Whimsical is a good word to describe Pushing Daisies. It has its own special cinematography and its own special pattern of speech. It is almost like a comic book come to life.

Ned the Piemaker has a special skill - he can touch something and make it come back to life. However, this can only be for a minute... should the dead stay alive longer than sixty seconds then another must die in their place.

Private Detective Emerson Cod has Ned use his unique skill to solve murders... by asking the victim who killed them.

Ned is kept company by employee at the Pie Hole Olive and by childhood friend Chuck whom he brought back to life, and now cannot touch for fear of sending her back to death... along with his faithful dog Digby who was also rescued from death.
