HARRODS BEANIES

In 2003 on the day of their Annual Christmas Parade Harrods introduced an Exclusive Ty Classic - Stardust. The first 500 bears sold that day came with special numbered certificates signed by Patricia Roche!

In 2004 UK BBOC members received invitations to another special launch at Harrods. This time there were two Beanies! Starlight the Bear was available in either Black or White and the first 500 of each colour were sold in Ty plastic boxes with a numbered certificate. The certificates are signed by Patricia Roche. The white bear is much rarer than the black bear and was available for sale in much more limited quantities (1 white was allowed per customer and 10 black!)

2005 saw another invitation to a Harrods event. This year there were again two Beanies, joined by a Classic and some Beanies previously only available at the Ty Store! Shooting Star was available in grey or white and once again the first 500 of each colour were sold in Ty plastic boxes with a numbered certificates. This time the signatrue of Ty Warner was printed on the certificate. The grey bear was available in more limited quantities this time.

2006 proved that the Harrods Beanie had joined the list of Ty annual events! Read about the 2006 event. Once again there were two Beanies and a Classic. Both Henry and Charles were once again sold in boxes with numbered certificates, Henry limited to 500 and Charles to 1,000. The Classic Digby was limited to 2,000 pieces. Henry is obviously going to be the harder to find as two Charles (unboxed) were allowed per customer to every one Henry.

In 2007 the bears were Omnia, Omnibus and Russian Exclusive Elbrus. Due to ill-health I did not attend the 2007 event.

2008 saw a non-new faced type bear, Nimbus. Apparently this event attracted a lot less customers than those in previous years.
