The Star Trek franchise never dies. For over twenty
years after the first series it lived on only on the big screen.
In 1987 Next Generation brought Star Trek back to the small screen. The
Federation carried on splitting infinitives and boldly going with the
Voyager and Enterprise. In amongst these however was a different sort of
Star Trek. Instead of a space ship this crew had a space station, the
eponymous Deep Space Nine. If viewers thought that there would be less
action and adventure stuck on a space station they were wrong... and over
seven seasons the Federation (and their Klingon allies) battle with the
Cardassians and a new enemy, the mysterious Dominion.
