When Michael's brother is framed for a crime he didn't commit and sent to death row Michael decides the only way to rescue him is to get himself sent to the same prison and then to break out.

To assist him in this task Michael has blueprints of the prison and other vital information tattooed all over his body.

In the end it isn't just Michael and his brother that break out but a whole collection of other prisoners too!

The second season sees them on the run, chased by FBI Agent Alex Mahone, who seems to be almost as smart as Michael.

By the third season they are back in jail again, but this one is a whole lot worse than Fox River... and now they must break out all over again.

Season four sees them caught in the political intrigue that has been brewing in the background since the first season, and they have to use all their skills to try and get free from the tangled situation once and for all.

For a show called Prison Break a lot of people will agree that it was a mistake to ever continue outside the prison walls, and constantly declining ratings mean that this season will be the last.
