Working the night shift in the morgue Tru Davis is sometimes implored by a corpse "Help Me!". At this point time rewinds and Tru begins the day again - although it is her and only her (and later Jack) who are aware of this phenomenon. Tru must now rescue the corpse who asked for help.

After the gimmick of rewind begins to get stale we are introduced to Tru's nemesis Jack whose job is to make sure that those who are dead stay dead.

Everything begins to get really complicated when we learn that Tru's mother used to do what Tru does and Tru's father used to do what Jack does... before this whole mess could be developed any further the show was cancelled - so suddenly that the final episode of Season 2 wasn't aired until some time later!
