In the Summer of 2001 at the Dallas Gift Show a new sub-set appeared in the Beanie world. These were the Birthday Bears. Starting with July, and one for each month after, each of these bears had the same body and differed only in the colour of their heads, their foot pads, their nose, and the frill around their necks. They even had their own hang-tags. The emblem on the chest is a birthday cake, with the month of birth inside.
In Summer 2002 a new set of Birthday bears was introduced, starting this time with August, these are traditional style bears, wearing a party hat!
