The nose should be brown, the same colour as Valentino's nose. The fabric should have the same feel as other Beanie Babies produced at this time. The ribbon should not be attached to the back of the neck and should be shiny on both sides. The chest flag should have 12 stars (many fakes have 15). There should be no period after the A in "U.S.A" on the tush tag. The tush tag may or may not contain two spelling errors. When Libearty was first introduced, the word "Beanie" in "The Beanie Baby Collection(tm)" was misspelled as "Beanine" and the word "SURFACE" in "SURFACE WASH" was misspelled as "SUFRACE". These words were corrected during production. The word "freedom" in the body of the poem should be spelled correctly and clearly in the hang tag. Libearty's name should not be capitalised in the body of the poem unless the tag has the birth date with the word, "Olympics" whitened out after "Summer Olympics 1996, Atlanta, GA.". On the hang tag the web address, www.ty.com, may be missing, covered up with a sticker, whitened out or cut off. Also, check the tush tag and make sure the copyright symbol after the copyright date has the little 'c' inside it (many fakes are missing the little 'c').
