BEANIE VARIATIONS

As long as there have been Beanies there have been variations. Here a just a few examples of how Beanies can change, and yet remain the same! A variation is a Beanie with the same name as another, but that differs in some way, these are separate from Beanies with errors such as missing emblems, errors in tags etc. Oddities are an accident of birth - variations are a conscious decision to change the Beanie.

The hardest thing about variations is agreeing what constitutes a variation and what is actually a new Beanie altogether. It is fun trying though!

Some variations are very subtle - very often a change of position of flag, a change of eye colour or a change of nose. Other variations are less subtle, when (for example) the entire colour of the Beanie changes. Some variations are almost impossible to detect - those with a change inside or to the back of the hang tag (Beanies issued widely with several generation of tag attached are not generally considered to be a variation - but a Beanie issued with both a retail and Ty Store tag is considered a variation). Confused yet?!
